Residency Requirements For Previously Incarcerated Individuals
- Each resident must have a referral from inside the prison system.
- The resident is not required to be from a local prison, but any prison within the state of Texas where the parole department has approved the resident to reside.
- Out of state applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Each resident must complete the application process to become a resident.
- Pre-Requisites for Applicants
- A pre-parole release program
- Must have obtained a G.E.D. or higher in their education either prior to, or during incarceration
- Dependent on the applicant’s reason for incarceration they must be actively been enrolled in one of the following programs:
- Anger management
- Drug/Alcohol
- Sex Offender
- Domestic Violence
Additional Applicant Requirements
- Length of time incarcerate
- Class taken, or degrees obtained during incarceration
- Job duties/responsibilities during incarceration
- Self-help programs completed during incarceration
- Must be an example inmate prior to release
- Self-help programs completed during incarceration

- All applicants must be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors.
Residency Requirements for Veterans
- Applicant must have served in any branch of the United States Military
- Applicant must not have been dishonorably discharged
- Residents must reside in the state of Texas
- Each resident must be able to provide why they are in need of assistance
- Each applicant must be approved by the Board of Directors
Resident Responsibilities
- All residents must pay rent during their stay.
- State assistance may be obtained to assist with this cost until such time as employment is obtained.
- Must become financially responsible within one year of residency.
- Each resident must vacate the property within one year of residency. Exceptions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Comply with all property owners’ rules and regulations.
- Drug, alcohol, smoking and violence has a zero tolerance. Smoking is permitted outside if cigarette butts are discarded in a receptacle.
- Residents will be required to leave the premises upon request with no exceptions if any violations of policy
- The resident’s parole officer will be contacted to assist in the removal of the resident.
- Residents are responsible for reporting any parole officers’ name and telephone number information to the office.
- Maintain the home in a clean and orderly fashion inside and out.
- Residents may invite their family for day visits, but families will not reside on the property with the resident.
- Weekend, overnight guest of family only upon approval by the property owner and their parole agent.
- Overnight visits are limited to two per month
- Must attend all classes mandated by the Department of Parole. These mandated classes will not be monitored by the property owner.
- Must seek employment and show proof of applying for employment.
Self-Help classes will be available through our partners and may or may not be held on the premises for programs such as:
- AA (Alcohol and Drugs)
- Alanon
- Family Unification
- Parenting Classes
All policy and procedure changes require Board of Directors’ approval.
